Christmas Romance Books to Curl up with This Holiday Season

Stack of Christmas romance books on a table in front of a Christmas tree

Chistmastime is my favorite time of year. Tree decorating, baking, spending time with family, and curling up with a cozy, holiday romance are just a few of my favorite things to do in the days leading up to Christmas. On that note, I have put together a list of several of my favorite Christmas romances.

The Twelve Dates of Christmas by Jenny Bayliss

This sparkling romance is sure to put a smile on your face. After years of unsuccessful dating, Kate signs up for The Twelve Dates of Christmas, a dating service that offers twelve dates with twelve different men in the weeks leading up to Christmas. Will Kate find love at last, or will she only gain more horrific dating stories?

Christmas in Vermont by Anita Hughes

This is the type of book that begs to be read while cozying up under a fluffy blanket with a mug of hot cocoa. When Emma spots the watch that she had given to her ex-boyfriend and one true love, Fletcher, at a local pawnshop, her friend manages to convince her that it is a sign from above that she is meant to reunite with him. That is how she finds herself working as the childcare coordinator at a rural Vermont inn around Christmastime. Several minutes of internet sleuthing had revealed that Fletcher would be staying there, and she is intent on winning him back…right up until she bumps into his fiancé.

The White Christmas Inn by Colleen Wright

The White Christmas Inn is a charming, feel-good story set during the days leading up to Christmas at a picturesque Vermont inn. When a snowstorm hits Vermont, the inn’s guests find themselves hunkering down for the duration of the storm. What follows is a story with Love Actually vibes: each chapter focuses on one of the guests and their respective romance.

She, however, is determined to make this holiday season special for her son, so she creates an advent calendar that features one Christmassy activity for them to do together each day. Along the way, she meets Daniel, who is also coping with grief, and the two of them quickly form a bond that begins to show potential for more than just friendship.

A Holiday by Gaslight by Mimi Matthews

Prepare to be transported back to Victorian England to a beautiful, country estate at Christmastime. With a plot reminiscent of Elizabeth Gaskell’s North and South, A Holiday by Gaslight is a captivating read. After ending her courtship with the wealthy merchant Edward Sharpe over his seeming indifference toward her, Sophie Appersett agrees to give him one more chance and invites him to her family’s home for Christmas. Will their time together over the holidays foster love, or will it be the final nail in their relationship’s coffin?
